shrinking days of summer - finale

I run with the Sisterhood

Today marks the end of the Shrinking Days of Summer Challenge over at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. This week I am down 0.6 but up 2.0 for the challenge. I'm not beating myself up, I'm not stressing about it, I'm really okay with it. There's always next week and the week after and....well, you get my point. It's a daily commitment. It's a daily choice. Some days I choose to stick to Weight Watchers and count my Points. Other days I don't. And until I make that commitment DAILY, I'm not going to see much change. I'm going to continue to gain and lose the same few pounds. I know this.

The challenge I am having is sticking with it daily. I know I can do it and I know it works (lost 60 lbs on Weight Watchers before). But that was before kids. I also know that I'm struggling with life at the moment and the stresses associated with it. I know I need to take care of me regardless of what hurdles come my way. I say I will and then something is thrown in my path that catches me off guard and I am sidetracked for however long. Any suggestions on how to stop getting distracted and FOCUS?

I wish I could offer something more than accepting that everything you eat is a choice. Everything you buy to eat is a choice. You have to decide (and yes, it's a decision) that you are worth the better/healthier stuff 99% of the time. Because that bag of red vines I bought at the Dollar Store? They were gone PDQ. I'm not immune to crappy choices, but I probably won't be buying them again for months. You are worth the healthy/good choices. Despite all the crazy rollercoastering going on right now in your life. You.Are.Worth.It. ((hugs))) And love you.

Hello! I empathize what you are feeling. I find life challenging right now also! But, Kirsten is right about the whole choice thing. Also, you are right...you need to take care of yourself and you can do that by getting workouts in (which helps) with stress and nourishing your body with the right foods! But if that sounds too overwhelming maybe you should switch to maintenance for now. That you way you can pick up when you are ready. Sending good thoughts your way!

First off, where did you get your blog header? I love the design and colors!

You and I seem to be in the same boat. I let distractions keep me from making my health a priority!

    We can do this!!

I have the WW at home kit, and it works (when I use it).

The only thing I can offer is daily mutual accountability.

do you have someone either IRL or online that you can report into daily on what you've eaten & your points? accountability works!!! btw, a loss is a loss!

First, congrats on the loss. I'm proud of you! You're life has been nutso lately so any loss is well deserved!

Do you have your old journals from when you lost the 60# on WW? Maybe going back to look at those? Or choosing a reward for yourself?

You can do this. I know you can.

That's ok!! Ya know, maybe Weight Watchers has run its course! Sometimes a food plan is great but when you get bored you gotta mix it up. Maybe try calorie counting or something instead? Do some spark people or livestrong or maybe even Body For Life? I don't know. I'm thinking that maybe you're bored with WW and it's time for something else! Anyhoo, love ya girl. I know you'll figure it out.
